Project Description

  • The purpose of this project is to support the integration of an early literacy program for children 0-5 and their families, Reach Out and Read (ROR), in pediatric clinics by building the ROR workforce’s implementation capacity. 
  • The project helps to develop, refine, and contextualize a Professional Scope and Sequence (PSS) on implementation best practices in support of the ROR program implementation

Project Impact

  • Increased capacity for implementation among 22 ROR Program Managers supporting ROR integration in clinics, with potential to expand across all 30 ROR affiliates across the U.S.
    • 7 Implementation Practice PL Lessons (and tools)
    • 5 COPs
    • 5 Team Sessions
  • Improved quality of ROR implementation in 5 NC clinics, with potential to expand to 6500 sites
  • Adapted implementation strategies playbook for use by ROR PMs
