Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Funds NIRN Project to Support Charter Management Organizations

With the goal of making dramatic gains for Black, Latinx, and low-income students with disabilities, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is investing over $10 million to launch the Charter Students with Disabilities Pilot Community. In partnership with Research Triangle Institute (RTI) and SRI, NIRN will be serving as a research and evaluation thought partner for the initiative. Overall, NIRN will be assisting with the design of the implementation and outcome studies as well as supporting capacity development efforts of Charter Management Organizations to effectively use data for improvement purposes along with identified intermediaries providing support. Drs. Caryn Ward and Tanya Ihlo from NIRN are honored to be part of this incredible work and look forward to the co-learning experiences with our partners.
