National Implementation Research Network
As a leader in implementation science, we strive to blend practice and research to improve outcomes across the spectrum of health and human services.
Implementation is what we do.
We lead the advancement of implementation science through practice-based research and a focus on practical implementation to solve real-world problems and improve outcomes for children and families.
Let’s Implement Together.

The National Implementation Research Network…
- supports organizations in effectively implementing evidence-based practices by providing technical assistance and conducting applied research.
- applies, investigates, and tailors implementation science frameworks and practices to enhance the capacity of systems, such as schools and clinics, in delivering high-quality, sustainable interventions while supporting the identification and testing of strategies to achieve consistent outcomes.
- empowers stakeholders to successfully adopt, scale, and sustain effective practices.

Beyond Adoption:
What Districts Learned About Implementing Math Well

What does it really take for districts to successfully use high-quality math curriculum—and sustain it over time? The Effective Implementation Cohort (EIC) set out to explore that question by bringing together districts, curriculum providers, and implementation partners in a shared learning effort focused on middle school mathematics.
Over several years, 19 district-provider partnerships worked together to better understand how systems support effective implementation. Along the way, participants examined the leadership, infrastructure, and strategies needed to move beyond simply adopting a new curriculum to actually supporting teachers and improving student learning. The cohort explored questions such as: What conditions make implementation successful? What structures help districts stay focused on long-term improvement? And how can implementation teams use data to guide their work?
The interactive final report shares key lessons, insights, and reflections from this collaborative effort. From the role of district implementation teams to the importance of leadership alignment and strong data systems, the report highlights practical strategies for educational agencies working to improve mathematics outcomes.
If you’re interested in how districts can strengthen their systems to support high-quality instructional materials, we invite you to explore the report and the wealth of resources on the EIC site.
