Dr. Ximena Franco-Jenkins, Dr. Megan Bookhout, and Jake Leonard recently presented at the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) Biennial Meeting, an international gathering of professionals dedicated to understanding and enhancing child development through research. With its long-standing history since 1934, the SRCD serves as a global platform for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners across a wide range of disciplines, including psychology, education, sociology, public health, and pediatrics. The biennial meetings provide an opportunity to share the latest advancements in developmental science, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among the approximately 6,500 attendees from around the world. This year’s meeting brought together experts to engage in discussions on critical issues impacting child development, with presentations covering theoretical, applied, and policy-related research.
The SRCD Biennial Meeting serves as a space for research dissemination and a vital forum for networking and collaboration among its members. Dr. Franco-Jenkins, Dr. Bookhout, and Mr. Leonard’s presentations contributed to the ongoing dialogue on how research can inform policies and practices to better support child development across various contexts. Their participation underscored the importance of continuing to advance the field through evidence-based research and the sharing of findings that can influence developmental science practices and policies worldwide.
