Date Published: April 25, 2025
Focus Area(s): Early Childhood

For over 50 years, the HighScope Annual International Conference has inspired and empowered educators, administrators, and researchers. This year’s conference theme, A Legacy of Research, A Future of Possibilities, will celebrate the achievements of early education researchers and unite educators to build on their legacy of providing high-quality early childhood education for all children.

In alignment with the conference theme, NIRN presented work on the MECK Pre-K project, “Exploring the Impact of High-Quality Pre-K on Language, Literacy, and Socio-Emotional Skills for Spanish-Speaking Children Attending a Universal Pre-K Program in North Carolina.”  This work aims to examine the quality of a sample of pre-K classrooms in North Carolina in relation to gains in preschoolers’ language literacy, mathematics, executive function, and social skills.
