Consensus Statement on Evidence-based Programs and Cultural Competence

This document is the product of a meeting of 25 experts in child mental health and cultural competency convened in March 2003, in Tampa Florida, convened by the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN). Endorsed by signatories from a wide range of service systems and disciplines serving a diverse list of populations, this consensus statement provided recommendations for action regarding effective, culturally sensitive implementation of evidence-based practices in the real world. This two-day meeting, facilitated by Dean Fixsen and Karen Blase, NIRN Co-Directors, generated a draft Consensus Statement; this revised document was released July 2003 with an addendum of endorsements.
